Course summary
This four year course is designed for people looking to become digital producers of innovative media content for various platforms. Training will focus on producing content that engages audiences in an immersive experience and understands the market that content is being created for. The course will prepare you for the new digital working environment that is seeping into all areas of industry as well as a changing media industry. As we have changed the way we interact with media platforms it is inevitable we change the way we produce media to circulate across these platforms with the help of learning the newer advanced technologies both innovatively and creatively. We offer an environment housing a collaborative creative collective of Filmmakers, Content Producers, Digital Journalists, Bloggers and Digital Artists at Warwickshire College and University Centre (Royal Leamington Spa Campus). Modules may include: Years 1 & 2 – Level 4 Academic Study Skills, Employability and T-Shaped Essential Training Part 1: The Craft of Production Essential Training Part 2: The Craft of Post-Production Podcast Creation Media Communication Introduction to Journalism Year 3 – Level 5 Work-based and Placement Learning Emerging Technologies Transnational Activism Impact of Social Media Branding Journalistic Practice Year 4 – Level 6 Capstone Research, Theory and Design Career and Portfolio Collaborative World-building Students are expected to complete 100 hours of work-based or placement learning by the end of Level 5. Assessment method
The course is 90% practical and as such is participatory in its approach to teaching and learning. All the coursework will involve online assignments which are assessed in relation to your impact and presence in engaging the online communities and demonstrating digital skills. There are no examinations on this course.
