Course summary
Do you possess technical prowess but seek the blueprint for business success? Our MSc in Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship is designed for the next generation of tech leaders and founders. You already have the technical foundation; we will empower you to build market-validated ventures, lead technology-driven enterprises and launch products that win. Our hands-on curriculum champions learning by building, not by exams. Through collaborative, project-based work with real-world challenges, you will gain the complete skillset to lead a commercial organisation or launch a high-growth startup. You'll master understanding your users, validating your market, and developing the competencies to lead a technology-driven enterprise in a rapidly evolving world. Programme highlights:
- From Technologist to Founder: This programme is your bridge. We welcome students from any STEM discipline, teaching you how to apply your deep technical knowledge to complex business challenges, giving you the complete toolkit to lead a commercial organisation or launch your own startup.
- Practice-Led, Commercially Focused: Our curriculum is centred on teamwork and solving challenges with industry partners, not on traditional exams. This approach ensures you gain practical experience in taking a technology from concept to market.
- Harness AI for Strategic Impact: In a world shaped by AI, we explore how to use it as a strategic tool to amplify your vision. You will learn to leverage this technology to enhance your practice and engage audiences in new ways, ensuring you are at the forefront of ethical and impactful creative work. Master the technology that will define the future.
- Education Excellence: The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is an accredited Centre of Excellence (IOEE), meaning upon graduation you will automatically qualify for an additional professional qualification—an Advance Diploma in Entrepreneurship. The Centre is also a proud national award winner for our authentic, real-world assessment, recently receiving the AGCAS Academic Employability Award (2025).
- An Innovation Powerhouse: Bristol is a globally recognised hub for technology and innovation, ranked one of the top five best places in the UK to start-up outside of London (Startup Cities Index, 2022). This offers an unparalleled environment to build your venture and your network.

How to apply
International applicants
The University of Bristol welcomes applications from international students and accepts a wide range of qualifications for postgraduate study. If you study or have studied at a university outside the UK, please select the relevant page for further information on qualifications, scholarships and education representatives in your country/region: bristol.ac.uk/international/countries.
Entry requirements
You will typically need an upper second class honours degree or an international equivalent in a technology discipline (for example, any engineering or science discipline, life sciences, computer science). Other academic backgrounds may be considered on a case-by-case basis if you can demonstrate 2 years of professional experience as a technologist or other technically-proficient role. We will consider your application if your interim grades are currently slightly lower than the programme's entry requirements and may make you an aspirational offer. This offer would be at the standard level, so you would need to achieve the standard entry requirements by the end of your degree. We will also consider your application if your final overall achieved grade is slightly lower than the programme's entry requirement. If your achieved grade is lower than our entry requirements, your application may be more likely to receive an offer if you have additional qualifications. If you have the following, please include your CV (curriculum vitae / résumé) when you apply, showing: * A relevant postgraduate qualification. * Work experience with a minimum duration of six months, paid or internship. Roles should be within the technology sector. See international equivalent qualifications on the International Office website: https://www.bristol.ac.uk/international/countries/
