This is a year 0 programme leading to the single honours Occupational Therapy programme. The University of Liverpool, in collaboration with local FE partners, has developed a Year Zero foundation programme for Home/EU students that leads to access onto a variety of vocational Health Studies programmes: Dentistry Dental Therapy Medicine Nursing Veterinary Science Physiotherapy Radiotherapy Diagnostic Radiography Orthoptics Occupational Therapy Students seeking entry to Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science, Diagnostic Radiography, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Orthoptics, Physiotherapy or Radiotherapy will study at Carmel College, St Helens. Please note that application to this programme is through UCAS (see course codes below), which is specifically targeted at Home/EU mature and non-traditional students who typically have taken a break from studies.

It is essential that applicants research their preferred profession thoroughly and must show evidence of a good understanding of the scope of practice of that profession, preferably indicated by observational experience. Experience in a paid or voluntary capacity or working with the general public, children, the elderly or people with special needs will also help to strengthen an application. Diagnostic Radiography and Radiotherapy candidates Must complete a Clinical Observational Visit and submit a Diagnostic Radiography Clinical Visit Form or a Radiotherapy Clinical Visit Form to the Admissions Unit at [email protected] prior to submitting a UCAS application. Veterinary Science candidates Must have undertaken a minimum of 2 weeks work experience, to include: 1 weeks work experience in a Veterinary Practice and 1 week on a commercial farm/stables/kennels or cattery.
