Course summary
Join the University of Southampton, a global top 100* research-intensive university on this three year DEdPsych Doctorate in Educational Psychology training programme. Upon graduation, this professional qualification allows you to work in Children’s Services. You’ll help children with the developmental and educational problems they present to parents, teachers and other agencies. You'll be eligible for registration with the HCPC as an Educational Psychologist. Your first year will be mostly university-based with a 55 day school placement. In your second and third years you'll take part in two local authority placements to give you experience of educational psychology practise. Assessment method
At Southampton, assessments are designed to equip you with the skills you need for success in your career. On this course, you'll be assessed though essays, oral presentations, case reports, structured clinical assessments, rearch thesis with viva voce, portfolio/clinical logbook, and evaluation of clinical competence on placement including assessment of recorded therapy sessions.

International applicants
English language requirements: band G, IELTS 7.0 overall, with a minimum of 6.5 in all components.
Entry requirements
We expect you to have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree (at least a 2.1 or international equivalent) or Master’s degree (Merit or international equivalent) in Psychology or related discipline. Having already completed a Master’s degree is considered desirable but not necessary. Candidates for both DClinPsych and DEdPsych programmes are required to provide proof of BPS GBC.
