Course summary
This course is for you if you’d like to work as a clinical supervisor for clinical practitioners delivering low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) interventions to children and young people in NHS and/or school settings. You’ll gain the knowledge and skills needed for your role, and to ensure safe and ethical practice. The course combines academic study with a clinical placement and experience of supervision. This course is offered in partnership with the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, providing a range of mental health services across the South of England.
Modules
We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2023/24. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to COVID-19, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum. We’ll make sure to let our applicants know of material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity. Core modules are taken by all students on the course. They give you a solid grounding in your chosen subject and prepare you to explore the topics that interest you most.

Entry requirements
You should normally have an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree or above. Your qualification can be in any subject. You should have substantive experience of practicing Low or High Intensity CBT interventions. No prior knowledge or experience of working with Children and Young people is required but you should demonstrate an interest and desire to work with, and supervise others working with, children and young people with mental health difficulties. You may also be considered for the course if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.
