In response to the growing global demand for professionals with expertise in both computing fundamentals and cyber security, Swansea University have developed our BSc in Computer Science and Cyber Security. You will build a thorough understanding of core computer science concepts such as programming, software engineering, systems architecture, and data management, with cyber security principles embedded into the curriculum, reflecting the reality that security cannot be treated as an afterthought but must be considered at every stage of system design and implementation. Based in the £32.5million Computational Foundry at Swansea’s Bay campus, you will benefit from world-class facilities and the integration of cutting-edge computing and security content, as well as strong links with industry partners including the BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT) and the National Cyber Security Centre.

Modules

In Year 1, you will typically study areas including: Programming, Concepts of Computer Science, Introduction to Data Science, Modelling Computing Systems. In Year 2, you will typically study areas including: Software Engineering, Database Systems, Introduction to Modelling and Simulation, Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence. In Year 3, you will typically study areas including: Big Data and Machine Learning, Advanced Topics in Artificial Intelligence. You will also undertake a Computer Science Project Implementation and Dissertation and a Computer Science Project Specification and Development.
