Course summary
The course is for Diagnostic Radiographers and Dietitians who have a minimum of three years’ experience in their area of intended prescribing and who are registered with the HCPC. As an employed ahp practitioner on completion of the practice certificate in supplementary prescribing you will gain an annotation on the professional register that allows you to prescribe medicines on a supplementary basis

Module: Non-medical prescribing (AHP).
Assessment method
As per HCPC educational standards you are required to undertake practice learning related to your prescribing practice totaling 90 hours in addition to the taught component of the programme.
Entry requirements
You will need a degree within a relevant area and have at least three years experience in practice, with at least one year’s full-time relevant experience immediately prior to your application in the area of your intended prescribing practice. You also need a medical Doctor who is willing to support and assess you in supervised practice. Current Disclosure and Barring Service clearance by your employer is also necessary.
