Course summary
Today, the world is more data-driven than ever; and while specialist analytical, digital, data science, and artificial intelligence skills are in high demand, the supply is still very limited. There is a lack of experts in data science and artificial intelligence and this lack of expertise means that, currently, only few companies are actually able to exploit the full potential of their data sets and transform the same into a competitive advantage. In line with this business need, this Master’s Degree in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics is a new, exciting, and focused programme that aims to provide graduates skilled in other disciplines with specialist and transferable knowledge and skill-sets needed to enhance careers as applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science (DS) professionals, consultants, or to start new tech-businesses. The course is designed to provide students with an applied understanding of the fundamentals of AI and DS, with learners developing a critical understanding of relevant analytical frameworks in the context of contemporary issues. Students will develop both technical and non-technical skills. It will enable graduates to become competent, confident, creative, enterprising, independent data modellers and interpreters, being able to select appropriate AI and DS tools for a given practical problem and perform empirical analysis that feeds into data-driven decision-making. The programme will aim to further develop students’ intellectual and employability skills by offering access to the Faculty’s own Career Booster professional development programme. In addition, the proposed course will offer students the opportunity to obtain professional certifications, such as micro-badges through AWS Academy and SAS. Professional Accreditation We are proud to be in an elite group of business schools to hold the triple accreditations of Equis, AMBA and AACSB, often referred to as the "Triple Crown".
