Course summary
Ultrasound imaging has significantly enhanced patient diagnosis and management, leading to a rapid increase in its use across various professional groups, beyond traditional imaging departments. The postgraduate Ultrasound Imaging programme at the University of Salford is dedicated to meeting this growing demand by offering thorough training in clinical ultrasound. The programme is designed to accommodate a range of healthcare professionals through a flexible, part-time pathway and includes core mandatory modules, named clinical modules, and negotiated modules to address individual learning needs. The course runs from January to January and is accredited by the Consortium for the Accreditation of Sonographic Education (CASE), ensuring that it adheres to the highest professional standards. Graduates will be well-equipped to practice competently within their chosen field. To enrol, you must already hold an undergraduate qualification in a healthcare-related field. As we do not provide clinical placements, you are required to secure an independently agreed clinical placement for at least two days a week, with access to an established clinical workload in your area of practice. Additionally, you must have the support of a suitable mentor at your place of employment.
