Course summary
Organisations need a strong pipeline of talented, well-informed individuals with the management and strategic leadership capabilities to help them succeed. This MSc Strategic Leadership offers the ideal way to develop your current and future leaders with specialist education from a top 10 UK business school. Benefits for students Our part-time master’s in Strategic Leadership is for experienced professionals with significant technical or subject area expertise who are now ready to develop their leadership capabilities. The programme supports the development of skills across a range of functions, covering the latest theories and thinking in areas such as leadership, strategy, governance, risk management, influencing organisational change, ethical decision making, information management and innovation. The course is deliberately challenging. We stretch participants as they apply strategic theories, evaluate current organisational practice, and identify improvements based on current research. Learning alongside a cohort of experienced managers, the programme is also a chance to explore fresh perspectives on similar problems and build lasting, trusted networks. As learners progress, they’ll build sought-after practical skills, learning to think critically, produce persuasive business reports, and harness the latest leadership and coaching techniques. The blended learning approach, with block face-to-face teaching and online content, supports participants to balance their work, learning and personal commitments. We invite applications from experienced professionals with a degree; however, experience is more important than particular qualifications, so we will consider applications from those without formal university qualifications. Benefits for employers Several of our employer partners embed this part-time master’s within their plans for talent development and succession, offering their employees transformational personal development opportunities. The course draws on Loughborough Business School’s cutting-edge research and practitioner expertise across areas such as leadership, change management and coaching. At each stage of the programme, participants are asked to draw on their own experience and apply what they’ve learnt to their own organisation. Undertaking a significant business project in the final year to solve a real organisational problem is key to participants gaining invaluable experience in carrying out practical research. In many cases, these projects have led to significant improvements being made within organisations, positively impacting areas such as customer service, graduate recruitment and onboarding, adding real value for employers.
