Course summary
Bioinformatics is where biology meets data science, using computational tools to unlock insights from complex biological data. From genomics and imaging to environmental monitoring, this course trains you to transform raw data into meaningful discoveries. Designed for bioscientists with little or no programming experience, the course begins with modules in Bioinformatics, Data Analysis and Programming, and Research Skills. You’ll then work on a collaborative group project, engage with York scientists in interactive research seminars, and finally complete an independent research project in a specialist area of bioinformatics.
