Marketing Director in the making? Budding entrepreneur? BA (Hons) Business and Management (Marketing) at Bath Spa University is an innovative and creative course offering specialism in marketing. You’ll develop core skills needed to excel in all kinds of businesses and will experience exceptional learning environments, supported by academic staff with business experience who will assist you along the way.

Course details

Modules

Year One will give you a broad understanding of today’s business environment, from organisational operation, trends in economic thinking, to the importance of data in business. You’ll cover topics such as Organisations and the Business Environment;’ Economics and Globalisation; and Managing Data. In Year Two you’ll take your knowledge and skills forward to focus on the inner workings of businesses, developing the skills that employers look for. Alongside three core modules - Creativity and Innovation; Financial Accounting; and The Marketing Business - there are many optional modules to choose from, including Human Resource Management; Festivals and Events Management; and International Business. Finally, Year Three will see you undertake an in-depth business research project in marketing and gives you the chance to set up a business by yourself or with fellow students. Again, you’ll choose other topics that excite you, from Managing Sustainability to Organisational Strategy. Please refer to our website for further information.

Assessment method

You'll be assessed in a wide range of ways that will test your business knowledge and management skills. These could include presentations, work related projects, group-work, computer based simulations, podcasts, examinations, essays, videos and business reports.
