Course summary

This Business Foundation Degree is unique; at the centre of our programme of learning is the student's employability and the understanding of how businesses function and thrive. Students will be introduced to the professional standards of corporate business and be exposed to entrepreneurial concepts that will enable them to see opportunities for creating businesses or engage in a rewarding career. This award carries the Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) kitemark aligned to the Operations or Departmental Manager standard. This course is delivered and awarded by Warwickshire College and is regulated by the Office for Students (OfS). Modules may include: Year 1 – Level 4 • Principles of Marketing • Project Management • Introduction to Economics • Financial Management • Principles of Business and Management • Academic Study Skills, Employability and T-Shaped (ASSET) Year 2 – Level 5 • Globalisation of Business • Human Resource Management (HRM) • Strategic Marketing Planning • Business Law and Ethics • Change Management • Work-based and Placement Learning Students are expected to complete 100 hours of work-based or placement learning by the end of Level 5. Assessment method

The degree programme is entirely assessed using a series of assignments throughout the two year programme. There are no formal examinations for successful completion of the course. Students will also be required to undertake 100 hours of work placement during the two year course.
