Course summary
Learn the knowledge and skills needed for a career in business and finance with a Foundation Degree. The programme will provide you with the knowledge, skills, techniques and behaviours needed to support your career as a professional in the industry. It is ideal for those who are both entrepreneurial and engaged with an ethical business agenda.
Modules
In year 1, you will study five core modules: ƒ The business environment ƒ Marketing principles ƒ Accounting and finance principles ƒ Business project ƒ Entrepreneurial small business management Then you will select an additional one module from the following options: ƒ Business law ƒ Introduction to microeconomics ƒ Introduction to macroeconomics ƒ Economic schools of thought ƒ Financial accounting ƒ Management and HR ƒ Enterprise and commercialisation In year 2, you will study six core modules: ƒ Business research project ƒ Work-based learning ƒ Organisations, culture, and behaviour ƒ 21st century business strategy ƒ Transparency in finance ƒ Responsible management accounting
Assessment method
A series of written and practical work is assessed by your lecturers and will determine your overall grade.
Qualified teacher status (QTS)
To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
