Course summary
Anatomical Sciences is the study of the human body’s structure and how its organs and tissues are connected. You will explore anatomy at two levels:
- Gross anatomy – studying whole organs
- Microscopic anatomy – examining tissues (histology)
- the systems of the body
- the variation between animals and humans
- cell biology
- molecular mechanisms and processes relevant to anatomy
- physiology, pharmacology and anatomy of different systems of the body
- Laboratory techniques
- Data analysis and experiment design
- Full-body dissection using Thiel-embalmed cadavers – a unique hands-on experience that sets Dundee apart.
- Gross anatomy of organs and systems
- Microscopic anatomy (histology)
