Why study Professional Policing (Accelerated Pre Join) at Liverpool John Moores University?
- This is a two year accelerated degree in Professional Policing
- The programme develops your knowledge and qualifies you to apply to the police service under one of the three designated entry routes
- The programme covers a wide range of subjects including law, policing and investigation, evidence based practice and research skills, which are essential for a career in policing
- You will be taught in the Liverpool Centre for Advanced Policing Studies in the Mount Pleasant Campus

Assessment method
Academic assessment will be undertaken in accordance with University standards. Generally, this will be by way of written assignments, presentations and exams, both seen and unseen. The range or diversity of assessments are designed to cater for all student needs and allow students to develop and demonstrate a variety of skills much in demand by the police service. There is also a requirement for students to undertake self-reflection. Some assessment are based on reports of this reflective process. The assessment process will be supported by university staff and there is a recognition that some students will need additional support in line with any particular learning needs.
