What makes a good leader? Find out as you develop an invaluable business toolkit and build an impressive foundation of knowledge. This MSc Business and Management conversion course is designed for graduates from a subject other than business and management. You’ll develop the knowledge and skills gained from your undergraduate degree and apply them to Business Management theory and techniques. During this conversion course, you’ll discover how to make good business decisions based on sound analysis and gain a solid grasp of business essentials. Examine the factors that affect a company’s success and master modern business theory. Innovative businesses need effective operations management. You’ll study valuable tools and techniques like marketing, brand management and product development. You’ll conduct research and carry out business analysis ready to champion new ideas at work. Wherever your interests lie, your independent piece of research will allow you to make a personal contribution to your development of knowledge as you explore topics such as these further. People skills are integral to good management too. We’ll help you explore key issues in leading, managing and developing people as you find your leadership style. What you'll study This course is designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and skills needed for successful business management. Throughout the programme, you’ll explore key concepts, theories and practices linked to product and service development, strategic advertising and brand campaign management as well as international economics. You’ll also develop your ability to make evidence-based decisions and lead teams and organisations with confidence, in a variety of contexts. Our Dissertation module will provide you with the opportunity to undertake a piece of independent research related to organisation and management development, linking your ongoing learning with real-life practice.

The course utilises a variety of summative assessment methods, such as written reports, practical discussions and presentations.


Entry requirements

Typical offer is a degree equivalent to a UK lower second class (2:2) honours degree in any discipline: It is worth noting that this degree is designed for applicants who have not studied Business and Management at an undergraduate level. If you have have studied Business and Management in the past five years, you are encouraged to consider either the MBA Global or MSc Sustainable Leadership and Management. Lower honours degree attainment may be admitted where you can provide evidence of experience and/or prior learning at the discretion of the department Overseas qualifications will be assessed using ECCTIS (formerly NARIC) to ascertain comparability.
