This HND Sports and Exercise Science programme is an exciting practical and informative course of study that will stimulate and challenge you. This unique programme offers you the opportunity to develop the specialist knowledge along with your practical skills that are needed for a career in this exciting industry. The programme is perfect for those who wish to progress onto a physical education teaching or coaching career, as you will learn the underpinning theoretical concepts and skill acquisition needed for your chosen career pathway. The programme takes a multidisciplinary and applied approach to the study of sport and exercise science, developing key skills and knowledge. You will study a combination of academic and practically based core competencies specifically developed for your chosen career specialist pathway. The programme will support you in preparing for a range of employment opportunities in your chosen sector through the use of a flexible approach to assessment that will support your academic skill development for progression to either Level 6 (Top Up) programmes or into the work place. You will also have the opportunity to network with professional sports clubs and local employers to undertake a valuable work placement. You will be taught by qualified professionals, from a range of industry background. The programme can be studied full time over two years (two days per week) or part time over four years (one day per week) and alongside the course there is the option to gain additional fitness instructor or personal trainer qualifications.
