Managing projects is fundamental to all businesses; large or small, local or international and the ability to manage people, finance, and deadlines is key. This course is designed in line with the requirements of project management professional bodies and explores the interrelated areas of people, strategy and processes, topics including risk, funding, understanding intercultural competencies and successfully delivering projects. As well as helping to equip students with specialised project management skills, the course also encourages the development of leadership abilities, financial acumen and people management techniques. Students will gain a general understanding of governance, and develop management accounting skills. Modules
Academic Skills and Career Development This module will allow you to build a strong foundation of academic, personal and professional development skills that will ensure success in the workplace. Throughout the module you'll develop a stronger reflective awareness of what your skills are, how they can be put into action to ensure your professional success, and where improvements can be made through a clear plan of action. You'll also develop a confident grasp of the study skills you need to succeed at master's level. This is a must-pass module. Developing the Project Professional The module will develop you as a reflective practitioner and cover topics such as finance, investment appraisal, leadership, teamwork and the interpersonal skills needed to deliver projects successfully. Fundamentals of Project Management This module will introduce you to the fundamentals required to deliver projects and programmes in order to successfully create value for your organisations. Research Methods and Final Major Project The module consists of two parts: Research Methods and Final Major Project. Learners will produce a research proposal and a final major project using the research skills developed. The final major project must be on a topic relevant to project management. Strategic Leadership and Change Combining theory and practice, this module will help you develop and enhance your own strategic leadership qualities. You'll gain a clear understanding of contemporary issues of leadership and will be supported towards a career in business management enabling you to apply knowledge and understanding of business and management to complex, dynamic issues and situations that will arise in your working environment. Optional modules Enterprise and Innovation In this module, you'll learn about the concepts of entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, business development, and the role of SMEs in economy - all with the aim of developing your confidence with being immersed in an ever-changing business environment and recognising opportunities, as well as equipping you with the skills and knowledge to start your own business. You'll gain theoretical knowledge of key areas in digital innovation and business transformation, as well as the ability to understand new innovations to offer opportunities within businesses. Professional Practice This module equips you with an in-depth knowledge of your chosen industry, giving you the insight to plan your long-term career. You'll be required to secure a work placement or freelance assignments equivalent to 100 hours in order to strengthen your knowledge of your chosen industry and to refine your skills.

• An honours degree at 2:2 or higher in a related discipline, or significant and relevant work experience in this area. Applicants who do not have English as their first language will be required to demonstrate an approved level of proficiency in the use of the English language. Qualifications are checked before enrolment, and international students must bring their original certificates or certified copies when coming to study at the University.
