Course summary

Our Management with Professional Experience MA is a distinctive two-year course that combines academic study with extended professional practice. Alongside completing the same modules as our one-year Management MA, you’ll undertake a substantial work placement or internship of at least 500 hours, gaining valuable real-world insight and connections. You’ll develop advanced expertise across key areas of business, including finance, people management, operations, communications and marketing. This deeper understanding will strengthen your ability to lead modern organisations, make informed decisions and adapt to today’s fast-changing global economy. Whether you aim to launch your own venture, join the private sector, public services or non-profits, the course is designed to give you the skills to succeed and progress in your career. Teaching blends theory with practice, equipping you with analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills. You’ll explore why organisations thrive or face challenges, and learn through a mix of face-to-face teaching, collaborative projects and online resources. A highlight of the course is the Management Residential, a weekend of workshops, networking and team challenges that develop leadership, communication and delegation skills. When you graduate, you’ll be ready to pursue roles in general management or specialist areas such as finance, operations, HR, sales and marketing. Our graduates have gone on to careers with global employers including Amazon, Barclays, Bupa, Global and Mind, with some starting their own successful businesses. Please note that students enrolled on the Management with Professional Experience MA will not be able to transfer to the one-year Management MA

Entry requirements

Allied to an appreciation that some subject areas may require greater engagement than others in order to successfully complete the course.
