Course summary

This sandwich course allows you to gain a theoretical understanding of business and accounting and finance, whilst gaining a valuable year of experience in industry. This degree also gives you accreditation towards accounting examinations from professional bodies ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA and ICAEW. In addition to a broad-based understanding of business, this course highlights the importance of accounting and finance within an organisation. You will examine and develop core disciplines that are valued highly by employers.You'll also improve your analytical and interpersonal skills, as you explore the behavioural and strategic contexts in which management accountants operate. You’ll develop an understanding of accounting and finance at both a corporate and a strategic level. Our Business Management Joint Honours courses are all built on a common first year of study, which means you have the option to transfer to a different Joint Honours course after the first year if you change your mind. This course achieved a 100% satisfaction rating in the National Student Survey 2022. Our BA (Hons) Business Management Joint Honours courses have Dual Award status with the Chartered Management Institute. Modules

Year One: Six core modules. Year Two: Three core modules, plus two specialist modules and one optional module. Full-time students have the option to replace the specialist and optional modules with a unique half-year opportunity, which include studying abroad, setting up an enterprise, and an industry internship. Year Three: Placement year for students on the four-year course. Final Year: Five core modules plus one optional module. Throughout the course a wide range of modules cover all areas of Business Management as well as modules more specific to Accounting and Finance, including Accounting and Finance for Managers, Strategic Management Accounting, Corporate Governance and Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Financial Management and Accounting in its Organisational Context.
