Our Hispanic Studies and Economics (BA) degree enables you to acquire an in-depth knowledge of Spanish language and Hispanic cultures while developing your skills as an analyst of international economic phenomena. The linguistic and cultural knowledge you acquire from the study of Spanish will allow you to apply your understanding of Economics in a global context. 50% of your degree will be in Economics and 50% in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures: Spanish may be studied either from Advanced or from Beginner level. It plays a part in every aspect of modern life, using scientific methods to develop theoretical models of behaviour and testing intuition with empirical analysis of markets, institutions and public policy. Your second or third year is normally spent abroad, either as a language assistant, or working or studying at one of our partner universities.
