You are required to buy or have the equivalent kits; airbrush (£50), Special Effects Make-up (£350), Hair (£200), brushes (£100), sculpting tools (£30) (Order forms for kits are given to students within welcome packs prior to September). Assignments and portfolio images will need printing. Campus printing costs start from 5p per page. The books required for the course are available from the library. However, many students choose to buy some of the core textbooks for their course at their own expense. Additional costs may be incurred for the following: • There are voluntary day trips available in year 1 and 2 where contributions are required (starting from £40 depending on the package) • You will need to purchase a digital storage device up to 1TB • Costumes and Models must be sourced for each practical assessment; the cost for this varies dependent on student preferences but must be paid for and sourced independently • A professional portfolio (estimated to start at £40) • Learning Journals (estimated to start at £6 each) will also need to be purchased • SD card for camera £10 • Batteries for use in the photographic studio (AA) • You will be required to purchase additional postiche the cost of this will be dependent on student preference and designs • Bald cap £20 (not compulsory) • Ready-made prosthetic piece £40 (not compulsory) It is expected that students purchase the above items independently, and are responsible for obtaining these items prior to starting the course in September.
