Course summary

The BSc (Hons) Management with Marketing places an emphasis on how organisations communicate with their customers and the strategies and tools they use.

  • It will equip students with a comprehensive theoretical and practical understanding of Management. Students will learn about key economic, financial, and psychological knowledge-bases in order to provide them with some of the basic tools they require to effectively manage and lead people at work, and engage in activities such as business creation and product/business development.
  • The degree will prepare students for work in large, multinational and small-to-medium sized organisations that are global in nature, innovative, entrepreneurial and digitally cutting-edge. Students can also expect to develop transferable skills in critical-thinking, reflection, time-management, leadership, written/verbal communications, and numeracy, and to undertake research on an individual and group basis.
  • Creativity and inter-disciplinarity are at the heart of everything we do here at Goldsmiths and in the Institute of Management Studies, from the programmes and modules we run, to the activities, masterclasses and lecture series they complement. Modules

Year 1 (credit level 4) Compulsory modules include: Strategic Management Foundations of Economics Understanding Entrepreneurship Introduction to Marketing Finance and Accounting Identity, Agency & Environment 1 Identity, Agency & Environment 2 Year 2 (credit level 5) In your second year, you'll complete the following compulsory modules as well as an optional module across the Institute of Management Studies. Marketing Communications Consumer Behaviour Marketing Management Market Research and Consumer Insight My Career Strategy The Goldsmiths Elective Year 3 (credit level 6) In your third year, you'll complete the following compulsory modules: Leadership and Talent Management International Business Organisational Behaviour Marketing Strategy Brand Management Digital Marketing and Social Media You'll also complete either a 30-credit Research Project or two optional 15-credit modules from the Institute of Management Studies. Please note that due to staff research commitments not all of these modules may be available every year.

Assessment method

You’ll be assessed by a variety of methods, depending on your module choices. These include coursework, examinations, group work and projects.
