You’ll learn how to plan projects, from initiation through to completion, covering aspects such as the allocation of resources, risk and people management. Throughout your studies, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of the core principles and practices of construction project management, including sustainability, financial management, procurement, leadership and commercial practice. You’ll explore the role of construction project managers and the tools and techniques used to oversee the entire process of new building projects; from meeting with the client to discuss the initial plans, hiring a team and managing building legislation to managing the project budget, liaising with the client and overseeing the construction team. Professional work placements and employer projects are integral to your degree and allow you to gain valuable experience, build your employability skills and develop contacts in the sector.
