The Masters in Law (General LLM) provides a challenging general legal education at graduate level. WHY THIS PROGRAMME

  • If you are interested in law generally but have not identified a particular area of speciality, this programme gives you some flexibility and choice. You can construct your own programme of law studies drawn from the full range of courses on offer.
  • You will benefit from our excellent facilities including the dedicated School of Law library; our main University library also contains our extensive collection of legal materials and official publications and is a European Documentation Centre.
  • We have a very vibrant mooting programme and a dedicated Moot Courtroom. We have an outstanding record of success and you can participate in internal, national and international mooting competitions.
  • We organise a series of lectures featuring talks from highly successful judges and lawyers.
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE The General LLM allows you to choose from the full range of Masters programmes available at the School of Law. You have the opportunity to select a programme of study that suits your own academic needs and which you may use to build on for future employment or academic specialisation. You will take six courses as well as submit a dissertation. Entry requirements

2.1 Hons (or non-UK equivalent) in Law. We may also consider a UK 2:1 Honours degree, or its international equivalent, in international relations, politics, or a relevant social sciences or humanities subject area. While we welcome applicants from non-legal backgrounds, it is important to note that this LLM remains a law-focused degree.
