At Newcastle University we provide you with the essential skills, advanced knowledge and understanding of business and management to proceed to doctoral research. Through the course you'll develop: a thorough grounding in theory, approaches and research methods associated ethics in the social sciences generally and also in management and business studies in particular skills in the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative research data, as well as an understanding of cutting-edge research across the social sciences the ability to reconcile different research approaches. You'll analyse data in a wide variety of formats, both qualitative and quantitative Two key modules are shared with first-year PhD students in the areas of management and business. Entry requirements

A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in any discipline. We will also consider your application on an individual basis if you have relevant professional experience. International Students: To study this course you need to meet our Band 6 English Language requirements: Direct Entry: IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in all sub-skills) If you have lower English Language scores, you may be accepted onto a pre-sessional English course. Our typical English Language requirements are listed as IELTS scores but we also accept a wide range of English Language tests.
