Marketing (with Foundation Year)

Course summary

Our Marketing course (with Foundation Year) is a four-year course with an integrated foundation year which leads to the same qualification as our three-year honours degree. It has been specifically designed for those wanting to undertake degree-level study but who may not meet the entry requirements or have traditional qualifications. The Foundation Year (Year 0) offers you the chance to expand and strengthen your confidence, skills and knowledge – ensuring that you are well-prepared and qualified to progress into Year 1 of the BSc (Hons) Marketing programme. Our Marketing degree aims to equip you with the global marketing perspective needed to market people, organisations, products and services on or offline – anywhere in the world. Covering both traditional marketing and contemporary business tactics you can learn about branding, consumer behaviour, innovation, marketing analysis, campaign management, creative and digital marketing. Our BSc (Hons) Marketing is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the world's largest community of marketers. You could gain exemptions from some modules of the Chartered Institute of Marketing's professional qualifications. During the foundation year, you’ll develop essential academic and IT skills, such as writing, communication, presentation and how to use digital resources to support your studies and research assignments. You will get a taste of studying within a multidisciplinary School, mingling with Foundation students from a range of other subjects, including accounting, economics and management. ‘Placement Year’ and 'International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time. You can find more information about these options on our website and if you have any questions, please get in touch.
