Course summary
The 20Twenty professional Leadership & Management qualification at Cardiff Met is designed specifically for large organisations and SMEs. The overall aim of the management training programme is to promote sustainable business growth by developing the critical leadership, business and management skills that employees need to meet the formidable expansion challenges facing businesses throughout the UK. More than 1,500 Welsh business have benefited from the programme so far, with more than 90 percent reporting an increase in sales turnover, employment, productivity and profits. The leadership qualification based in Cardiff is 10 days over 10 months. The first half of the programme is designed to acknowledge and develop your own leadership style through a series of practical workshops and individual executive coaching. In the second half of the programme, a series of Master classes are provided on innovation and new thinking on a variety of business themes - including, Lean processes, creating a brand, maximising sales and making the business 'investor ready'. The practical elements introduced throughout the programme are supported by opportunities to achieve a range of qualifications from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) including a CMI level 7 Certificate in Leadership together with a Postgraduate Certificate (PgC) in Sustainable Leadership. Following successful completion of the PgC, 60 Master-level credits will be obtained and these credits can be used towards the new Executive MBA . Students also have the option of continuing their studies to achieve the designation Chartered Manager or 'CMgr'. However, the main objective of 20Twenty Leadership programme is to get participants to develop a three-year growth strategy for their business or department. Hence all the workshops and assignments are based around the needs of the business in driving sustainable growth. This is what makes this programme different from other leadership development programmes - it will provide sustainable results with tangible benefits. Each group of participants partake in a series of Workshops, Action Learning Sets, Master-Classes, Business Mentoring and Executive Coaching, focusing on key areas such as: Strategic Growth Project: The SGP transfers learning from the classroom to the workplace with a 3 year business growth plan for your department or company. It can be about elements such as increasing profit or turnover, changing leadership style, reducing costs, staff turnover, increasing staff engagement, increasing productivity or reducing waste. Leadership and Management Practice & Styles. Leadership Tools and Techniques Accounting and Finance Growth opportunities & Strategy Strategic tools and frameworks Marketing & Social Media Creativity and Innovation Motivation, teams, and people management Emotional Intelligence and Resilience The Entrepreneurial Mindset.
