Geographical thinking is now fundamental to how we understand and might respond to the most pressing issues of the twenty-first century, such as climate change, social inequality, migration and urbanisation. By studying how places, policies and landscapes are being made and reinvented in a changing world, this degree will equip you with a deep understanding of the social, cultural, economic and political processes transforming our human and natural environments. Developing your geographical imagination through innovative virtual fieldwork, you'll gain the knowledge and skills to investigate, analyse and communicate how geography matters in our everyday lives as you work towards an independent research project to complete your degree. - Develop an advanced understanding of the dynamic relationships between human and natural environments in a changing world.

Modules
This degree has three stages. In Stage 1 you’ll study with two interdisciplinary modules – one focuses on environmental issues and one that spans the social sciences. Next, in Stage 2, you'll explore the nature of the relationship between environmental and social issues in more depth and the changing geographies of the United Kingdom. Finally, in Stage 3, you’ll put your knowledge and skills to work investigating responses to environmental change and the political and policy debates that surround them.
