Course summary
The HNC in Sport will help you develop the knowledge, practical skills and experience needed for a professional career in coaching, fitness and exercise science. You will investigate the science behind performance for athletes and coaches, while developing a range of vital skills. This course is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue or develop their knowledge across a range of sporting topics. Combining a range of vocational and employability-based skills, you will study key topic areas including Nutrition, Sport Psychology, Sport Coaching and Biomechanics. This course aims to develop your knowledge of the science underpinning performance for athletes and coaches, whilst developing the practical skills and experience needed for a professional career in coaching, fitness and exercise science. This course aims to develop learner's knowledge and skills in a range of areas including the theoretical and practical elements. Upon completion of this course, progression routes include a third-year top-up and a range of employment opportunities. Within the main qualification, we also focus on developing personal skills and work-based learning opportunities with a range of external partners.
