Course summary
The BA (Hons) Top-up Degree includes exciting modules designed to develop your skills and understanding to a professional standard. Using advanced techniques and processes you will have the opportunity to develop your own professional identity and dynamic portfolio, underpinned by an appreciation of media make-up culture and theory. Students have the opportunity to specialise in a particular makeup discipline and develop their skills in that area. As a result, successful students should expect to graduate from the course with a strong portfolio in their chosen field. Modules may include: • Advanced Materials and Techniques • Industry Preparation • Industry Directed Project • Final Major Project. In addition to our End of Year Degree Show, students fundraise to showcase their work to industry at events such as IMATS. Teaching and Assessment Our specialist staff have extensive knowledge of the industry, along with the experience and expertise to guide you as you develop your skill set. Assessment is continuous by means of coursework. You will complete written assignments, journals and design presentations, as well as undertaking regular practical projects. You will also attend lectures and workshops and develop your research skills. Progression Opportunities This course is highly respected within the media industry, and successful students are equipped with the advanced skills required for a flourishing career. Our graduates have gone on to work on film and television productions such as Game of Thrones, Star Wars and Doctor Who, and to work for companies such as Madame Tussauds and the English National Opera. Other career progression routes include medical prosthetics and wigs, freelance makeup artistry and teaching.

Assessment method
