Marketing is a fast-growing and dynamic career sector, and skills in this area are in high demand. Marketing jobs are expected to grow by 8% from 2023 to 2033 (Prospects, 2023). As business and technology are always evolving, so marketers must find new ways to increase sales and tell stories. Our MSc Marketing course will help you stand out as a highly qualified job candidate. A marketing Masters degree can qualify you for a broad range of career opportunities. This includes senior management positions where the earning potential is often higher (Indeed, 2025). We’ll make sure you’ll have the skills needed by employers in marketing. You’ll gain fundamental knowledge about the practice and theory of marketing. We’ll teach you current business trends in multi-channel marketing and digital marketing. You’ll investigate responsible marketing, consumer behaviour and brand creation. We make sure your newfound expertise is transferable across different business landscapes. Students can join the Stirling Marketing Society. Build your skills with a consultancy project You will undertake consultancy-style projects, which will include real-life case studies and opportunities to work with a business. Our guest speakers deliver lectures and workshops on contemporary marketing topics. Chartered Institute of Marketing accreditation Our MSc Marketing is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). CIM is the world’s leading professional marketing body. The accreditation counts towards the CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing. Our graduates gain exemption from half of the CIM Professional Diploma modules. Modules

Semester 1: Responsible marketing management; strategic marketing practice; marketing communications and the consumer. Semester 2: Marketing management applications; contemporary issues in marketing.

Assessment method

Much of the assessment is continuous and may include: research reports; essays; briefings; management reports; case analyses; debates; literature reviews; marketing communication plans; poster sessions and presentations. Assessed work is often conducted in groups, as developing teamwork and communication skills are seen as important.

Entry requirements

A minimum of a 2nd Class Honours degree (2.1 preferred) or equivalent. Applicants without these formal qualifications but with significant appropriate/relevant work/life experience are encouraged to apply. If English is not the applicant's first language, evidence of proficiency must be provided such as a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 (5.5 in all bands). If applicants do not meet the required score it may be possible to register for one of our pre-sessional English courses. To register applicants must hold a conditional offer for a course and have an IELTS score 0.5 or 1.0 below the required standard.
