Course summary

The MSc Business Management is an excellent foundation for graduates from any discipline. It will equip you for entry and mid-level roles, paving the way to advancement to senior management positions in areas such as innovation, business development, human resource management, sales, marketing and supply chain management. You will develop practical business management skills and learn to apply these skills in various contexts, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how different business functions operate and interrelate. We’ll encourage you to think about business in a responsible way and explore rapidly evolving external challenges currently facing actual businesses, creating sustainable value for business and society at large, and contributing to a healthy economy. On arrival you’ll complete a skills and aspirations audit, allowing you to identify learning gaps. The insights gained will inform your development path on the Career Catalyst module. This allows you to track your personal and professional growth throughout the programme, build a relevant skillset and develop your personal unique selling point. By the time you graduate, the business competencies and knowledge you've mastered will allow you to add significant value to organisations all over the world, and in any sector. If you’re already working in a management role, the practical business skills you gain will give you the tools to develop your performance further, with a valuable qualification that also enhances your future professional prospects.

Modules

Managing finance; meeting customer needs; people and organisations; strategic analysis. Option modules,the postgraduate diploma is made up of the 4 core modules, plus 4 optional modules from a selection which will typically include: managing change; leadership; project management; innovation, creativity and enterprise; management consulting project; customer relationship management; global marketing; sustainable procurement; Master's dissertation.

Entry requirements

You will need: An honours degree of 2:2 or above in any subject. If you do not meet the above grade requirement but have at least 12 months relevant professional experience and/or equivalent qualifications, we will consider you on an individual basis. International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent*). *The University accepts a large number of UK and international qualifications in place of IELTS.
