Birkbeck’s Law LLB provides you with the key skills and knowledge to move towards successfully qualifying as a lawyer. Our degree will teach you the foundational areas of law required by the legal profession. You will develop a sound knowledge and understanding of the detail of the law. You will also learn to identify the political, economic, commercial, social and cultural factors that inform and underlie legal theory and doctrine, and gain an understanding of the problems, tensions and contradictions within certain legal theories and doctrines. Our Law LLB also gives you the opportunity to tailor your interests with a range of specialist topical modules to choose from including in space law, cybersecurity, media law, freedom of expression, and human rights. Upon graduating, you will be ready to prepare for the Solicitors’ Qualifying Exam (SQE), apply for a place on the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) or pursue a range of other careers.
