Birkbeck's BSc International Business brings you up to date with the rapidly changing environments in which multinational enterprises operate and in which local businesses achieve international reach.  Designed to meet the buoyant demand for more international business graduates, this degree provides you with a solid foundation for a career in a multinational company or in a company engaged in international business. You will deepen your knowledge of a broad range of management issues in key areas, including:

  • international strategic management
  • marketing
  • finance and operations management
  • human resource management
  • accounting
  • managerial economics.

You can study this course full- or part-time and choose your own timetable for the core/compulsory modules selecting whether to study them in the daytime or in the evening. Placement route If you opt for the full-time Placement route on this course, it will give you the opportunity to develop your international business skills in the workplace and apply learning from your degree in a professional setting to further increase your employability when you graduate. Foundation Year If you opt for the Foundation Year route, this will fully prepare you for undergraduate study. It is ideal if you are returning to study after a gap, or if you have not previously studied the relevant subjects, or if you didn't achieve the grades you need for a place on your chosen undergraduate degree. International applicants

If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.
