This course has established a record of success by providing the technical skills and professional know-how needed to create imaginative design solutions, alongside real insights into the design industry. The programme enables you to develop and take ownership of your own creative skills base and transfer it towards a viable professional direction. There's a focus on employability that allows you to develop the practical, theoretical and business skills that match the requirements of employment within the graphics industries. This will culminate in your third year through the setting up of a design agency at the start of your third year. You'll have the opportunity to develop your business acumen and professional standard through use of live briefs and industry networking connections. Modules
The modules for this programme have been designed to allow you to fully explore your own skill set as well to put into practice the theory behind design in a sustainable and social conscious way. In Year One, you’ll learn about creative industries, image making and explore the past, present and future of culture and meaning. You'll then be introduced to design creation, production and the materials and processed used in design. Year Two will explore collaborative design and working within the graphic design industry. You'll also start thinking about sustainable design and how to design for social impact. Finally in Year Three, you’ll start to plan your future career and work on a project in the industry. Assessment method
Assessment is via a combination of practical exams and coursework. There are no written exams on this course.
