Through field research and observation, anthropologists generate fresh insights into complex global challenges. You'll learn to understand the experiences of those most affected by these challenges. Sussex has one of the UK’s largest Social Anthropology departments. The broad diversity of our expertise will allow you to:
- gain advanced knowledge of anthropology’s academic tradition and contemporary application
- tailor your degree to match your own interests within anthropology
- develop ethnographic research skills and apply them in your dissertation

Entry requirements
You should normally have an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree or above. Your qualification should normally be in anthropology or another humanities or social sciences subject; alternatively, you should have relevant professional experience or engagement.
