Course summary

If you feel passionate about becoming a secondary teacher, this course will equip you with the skills to teach pupils across the 11-16 age range. The course is designed to provoke thought, challenge assumptions and help develop you as a reflective practitioner, so you can enter the teaching profession with clear educational priorities and the skills with which to achieve them. Through this undergraduate route, you could become a secondary school teacher within three years. During the course, you will develop your knowledge and learn the art of teaching. You will study a range of subject specific and pedagogical modules that build on your current knowledge as you learn the practical, professional, and academic skills to become an inspirational teacher. You will understand fundamental areas of your chosen subject as well as effective ways to teach the subject within a classroom environment. You will be taught by experienced education specialists and our dedication to small teaching groups allows you develop strong professional relationships with the University teaching team. You will also be supported by our strong relationships with our local partner schools.
