This foundation year programme will provide a solid foundation and pathway into our Sport and Exercise Science degree programme. The key areas of study will be effective communication and study skills and you will be introduced to basic theories and concepts within the discipline. You will: Develop the skills and knowledge to successfully study at Level 4 Learn about the basic theories and concepts relating to Sport and Exercise Science Be taught by a multi-disciplinary programme team with experience in a range of professional health care, sports and exercise settings

Foundation Year: Fitness Testing and Exercise Prescription, University Life, Introduction to Applied Sciences, Introduction to Exploring Evidence, Foundations of Mental and Physical Health Year One: Human Physiology, Bioenergetics and Nutrients, Principles of Training: Health and Performance, Introduction to Sports Science, Introduction to Sport Psychology, Introduction to Sports Biomechanics, Digital Tools and Skills for Sport and Exercise Science Year Two: Exercise Physiology, Research Methods and Study Design, Sports Nutrition, Biomechanics and Performance Analysis, Psychological Assessment and Strategies for Athletes, Applied Strength and Conditioning (optional module), Lifestyle Medicine 1 (optional module) Year Three: Dissertation, Placement and an optional module from: Applied Sport and Exercise Practice, Advanced Strength and Conditioning, Advanced Performance Analysis, Lifestyle Medicine 2, Advanced Topics in Exercise Physiology, Applied Sports Psychology, with Teams, Advanced Topics in Sports Nutrition, Advanced Biomechanics, Critical Issues and Topics in Sport Psychology
