Course summary
This course is designed to help you become a proficient mammography practitioner, capable of producing high-quality mammographic images with a deep understanding of the evidence base that supports your practice. Throughout the course, you will be encouraged to reflect on both your clinical experience and the service user journey, helping you to deepen your appreciation of each and enhance your professional practice. The online learning component incorporates bespoke elements, excellent e-learning resources, and the expertise of the National Breast Imaging Academy to provide a comprehensive learning package. Completing the postgraduate certificate will equip you with the skills necessary to become competent in performing advanced imaging techniques. Please note that this programme does not include a clinical placement. If you are employed, your employer will need to fund your course and provide the necessary clinical placement. If you are self-funding, you must secure a clinical placement that will support your studies. As part of the application process, you must submit a verification form signed by both your manager and mentor, confirming their support for your application.
Assessment method
You will be assessed by a Clinical Record of Achievement (clinical portfolio and reflection), a written clinical audit, and an online examination.
Entry requirements
This programme starts in September and is part time over three semesters. A clinical placement with access to a clinical caseload and the support of a clinical mentor will be required.
