Course summary

This programme will include a Sport, Health and Exercise Science pathway, which all students will be initially enrolled on, with students able to select an optional pathway in year two. These optional pathways will be in either Health, Fitness, Strength and Conditioning, or Coaching and Development. Please note that the optional pathways will only be offered in year two in cases where minimum group sizes of six are maintained. Depending on the pathway taken in the second year of study, students will achieve one of the following awards:- BSc (Hons) Sport, Health and Exercise Science BSc (Hons) Sport, Health and Exercise Science (Health, Fitness, Strength and Conditioning) BSc (Hons) Sport, Health and Exercise Science (Coaching and Development) With excellent links with numerous fitness centres, sports clubs, governing bodies and organisations in the region, students have the invaluable opportunity to develop their vocational experience alongside their studies. Not only can this provide scope for students to apply for internships or additional qualifications, it further establishes the necessary skills required to secure employment upon completion of the course. NB this programme will be delivered across both our Easton College and City College Norwich sites, in order to utilise the range of facilities at these locations. Qualification requirements

Our typical offer is 80 UCAS tariff points from A levels or equivalent. A minimum of GCSE Maths, English and Science (preferred) grade 4/C or above. UCAS points from Scottish Highers or Advanced levels are accepted. UCAS tariff points from BTEC or City and Guilds diplomas are accepted, Open University credits in lieu of A levels, Access to HE Diplomas, and T Levels are accepted. Subjects with a scientific element are desirable. We will also accept applications from students who have passed, or are predicted to gain a pass grade in the following specific course programmes: - Pearson BTEC L3 Sport Coaching and Development Extended Diploma Pearson BTEC L3 Sport Performance and Excellence Extended Diploma Mature applicants are welcome if they can demonstrate appropriate qualifications and suitable experience. Applications from students whose first language is not English are welcome. For International students we require evidence of proficiency in English (including writing, speaking, listening and reading); the required minimum is IELTS Academic (SELT) 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components).
