WHY STUDY THIS COURSE? This exciting degree combines your enthusiasm for esports and gaming with international business, allowing you to learn through the lens of your passion. The Foundation Year (Year 0) is the first part of a four-year degree programme. It provides an alternative route for those unable to meet the traditional entry requirements for a three-year degree or are returning to study later in life. Modules such as ‘International Esports Business Environment’ and ‘Employability Skills’ at Level 4 can be put into practice in year one, with our external partners and your own business ideas, supported by ‘Entrepreneurship in Esports’ module. Importantly, the ability to vocationally apply your knowledge into the esports industry from your first year will help to create a strong personal portfolio of evidence and track record of your achievements to support employability. As you progress into Level 5, ‘Esports & Social Enterprises’ and ‘Esports Business & Events’ modules dovetail perfectly with the more traditional subjects such as ‘Leading, managing & Coaching’ and ‘Esports Business & Events’. Underpinning these vocational and practical subjects comes the ‘Esports Regulation: Rules & Risks’ to ensure all that you do is delivered appropriately. As your journey matures into Level 6, the ‘Strategic Entrepreneurship’ and ‘Esports Industry & Finance’ modules will ensure that you understand how to put your knowledge into practice effectively in the real-world. THE AIMS OF THIS COURSE:
  • To prepare you for a career in the global esports business or further study with the skills of enquiry, within an evidence-based practice-led, knowledge applied interdisciplinary curriculum and performative research framework.
  • To prepare you with the competencies needed to adapt and thrive in life’s continuously changing environments, employment and an increasingly diverse global society.
