Course summary
This part-time one year BEng degree course is designed for practicing engineers who are already qualified to HND, FdEng, FdSc or degree level who want to gain the academic qualifications necessary to achieve Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status. Applicants for this course must be employed in a relevant role in the Engineering industry. The BEng (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering course will provide you with the core and specialist principles of this highly employable engineering field to furnish you with the required skills to enjoy an exciting career path within this diverse sector. Our part-time BEng (Hons) Manufacturing Engineering Level 6 Top-up course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology on behalf of the Engineering Council as meeting the requirements for Further Learning for registration as an Incorporated Engineer. Candidates must hold a IEng accredited HND/ FdEng/ FdSc to comply with full IEng registration requirements. Assessment method
The modules are part of an integrated suite that have both formative and summative assessments built into them. These methods include all of the following: problem based assignments, work-based projects; oral and written reports, individual and team-based exercises, experimental work, and phase tests.

Qualification requirements
Normally applicants would be expected to have the equivalent of a BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering which should include a Mathematics and Science Level 4 unit and at least two units achieved with a Merit grade or a Foundation Degree in Engineering which must include modules in Mathematics at Level 4.
