Course summary
The BA (Hons) Digital Marketing course develops the skills, knowledge and understanding of successful marketing strategies using digital platforms and social media. You will explore and examine marketing, finance, branding, and strategies within areas such as digital arts, fashion, communication design, lens-based practices, music and performing arts. This course offers the opportunity to develop the skills and attributes to excel in both the practical and theoretical skills of digital marketing whilst studying amongst a thriving community of diverse creatives. As a specialist arts university we have the resources and expertise to provide you with the creative environment to explore digital marketing practices alongside your creative peers. With opportunities for collaboration with a diverse range of creative practices with students on related courses in marketing as well as those studying subjects across art and design, fashion, still and moving image, writing and the performing arts. You will also have the opportunity to engage with live briefs and experienced industry professionals, who will support your development for progression into employment. The course will develop your critical enquiry into specialist areas of marketing to build knowledge and understanding through the creation of content for digital platforms. The essential skills for the analysis and interpretation of data to inform strategic decisions will be gained alongside more practical skills with digital software, photography and filmmaking tools to create content for multiple platforms. The production of a portfolio will demonstrate your ability to design and execute comprehensive digital marketing campaigns for the creative industries.

Modules
Year one - This will introduce digital marketing within the context of specialist creative industries to help develop your understanding. You will explore the fundamentals of digital marketing concepts to examine the behaviour of consumers in response to current digital marketing strategies, developing your knowledge of strategic planning to align with business ambitions. You’ll also be introduced to the fundamental tools for creating your own online content including still and moving image. Year two - You will examine social media marketing to engage with global audiences and build communities, exploring content creation and digital marketing to create and manage content across multiple platforms. Employing web analytics to inform data-driven decision making and using available tools to create material, track performance and improve your marketing strategies. Year three - You will refine your critical enquiry and extend your skills and experiences within an area of your interest. You will explore brand management to build and maintain strong digital brands, understanding the importance of online reputation management. The development of a portfolio of outcomes will assist you along your career path within the creative industries.

Leeds Arts University encourages applications from talented and motivated students. The University uses a wide range of methods to assess applications, these can include: • personal statement • predicted grades • contextual information • reference • examples of your work • digital auditions or interview If you are successful in your application an offer will be made to you, if conditional we will ask for between 104 and 120 UCAS tariff points from any combination of A Levels/T Level/Extended Diploma/Foundation Diploma. The expected subjects will depend on the course you are applying for. All applicants must have GCSE English Language or Literature at Grade 4/Grade C or above, or English Functional Skills Level 2 at Pass. - Examples of work Our BA (Hons) Acting for Screen course is about working with screens in all their forms so we are keen to see how you can perform in any of these settings. We would like you to record and upload a video to YouTube, Vimeo or Weibo. The video should be made up of one or more solo performances of up to three minutes in total. The performed pieces may range from scenes from existing TV or cinema in any dramatic form or may be self-written as drama or as influence pieces designed for social media. You will need to state or caption each performance piece so that we can identify your source. - English You’ll need to have passed GCSE English Language or English Literature at Grade 4/Grade C or above, or English Functional Skills Level 2 at Pass. For mature students, an Access to Higher Education qualification in art and design will also be acceptable to demonstrate English language ability. Currently studying a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design? If you are currently studying a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design, you will have already achieved level 3 qualifications which carry UCAS tariff points. When considering your application, we will, collate your achieved tariff points with those you are predicted. You will also need a GCSE grade 4/ Grade C or above in English Language or English Literature or equivalent, or Functional Skills level 2 at a pass.
