Course summary
This BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy course will help you develop professional and lifelong skills while you explore this exciting and varied profession. You will study physiotherapy theory, evidence based research and practical clinical practice. The course will challenge you and prepare you to deal with a range of problems experienced by people as a result of illness, injury or disability. This degree combines typical lectures with practical clinical sessions and self-directed learning, which is key to gaining autonomy as a student and a future healthcare professional. You will complete relevant placements during your studies to contribute to your work experience and theoretical understanding, and prepare you for industry once you graduate. You need to complete 1000 hours of practice learning placement experience to meet the accreditation requirements for this course. This course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (pre-registration) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). When you graduate from this course you will be eligible to apply for registration as a Physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Modules
You will study a selection of core and optional modules in each year with each module worth a particular number of credits. Each module is delivered differently, depending on its content and focus of study.
Assessment method
You will be assessed through a range of assignments including essays, examinations, portfolios, practical assessments, lab reports, and oral presentations. Your placements are also assessed. You will receive feedback on all aspects of your placement elements from safety and effectiveness to professionalism.
