This programme is designed by industry specialists to cultivate the next generation of Software Developers and Programmers. This program is tailored to provide you with a deep understanding of the principles of software development, coupled with practical programming skills that are highly sought after in today’s digital economy. Our course encompasses a variety of modules, including Advanced Programming and Risk Analysis & Systems Testing. Advanced Programming will delve into complex programming concepts and techniques, enhancing your problem-solving skills and ability to write efficient code. Risk Analysis & Systems Testing will equip you with the skills to identify potential risks in software systems and conduct rigorous testing to ensure optimal performance and security. Whether you’re a recent graduate of our HNC aiming to start a career in software development, or a professional seeking to upskill, our HND in Software Development & Programming offers a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, setting you up for success in the dynamic field of software development. Upon successful completion of the course, you will have acquired skills that enable you to consider career paths as a Software Developer, Solutions Architect, Test Analyst, Data Analyst, Network Engineer or technician or a Systems Technician. Alternatively, you may wish to progress onto a Top up degree to achieve a full Level 6 BSc.

This course includes the following core modules that all students complete: Level 5- Year 1 Business Intelligence- core mandatory; Internet of Things- core mandatory; Emerging Technologies- core mandatory; Data Structures & Algorithms- specialist mandatory; Advanced Programming- specialist mandatory; Risk Analysis and Systems Testing- specialist mandatory; Digital Sustainability; Pitching and Negotiating Skills; Occasional changes to modules and course content may take place. Students will be notified when applicable.
Assessment method
