Course summary

Safeguarding children is a high profile area of work, where decision making carries a high order of risk for children, their families and those who engage with them. You’ll develop an in-depth knowledge of child protection work and be able to demonstrate effective, evidence based skills with our PG Certificate (PG Cert) in Safeguarding Children.

  • This course is being reapproved under the University’s normal cycle of review. As such, the course structure and content may be changed to enable the University to deliver a better quality of educational experience to students.

Entry requirements

Applicants should hold at least 2:1 degree in related subject. Applications from all candidates will be considered on their merits in the light of the nature and scope of the programme and if they have experience. Non-standard entrants are encouraged and in appropriate cases accredited prior learning and or professional experience may be substituted for a first degree in line with current academic regulations. Typically applicants will hold a professional qualification that can be accredited as relevant prior learning. A detailed admissions procedure will be forwarded on application.
