If you currently work, or aspire to teach, in physical education or sport coaching, this course is for you. You will study on campus twice a week, covering topics like:

Once you successfully complete our Physical Education and Sports Coaching degree, you can choose to spend a third year completing either our:
  • Sports Coaching Science BSc (Hons)
  • Physical Education, Sport and Youth Development BA (Hons).

Modules

Year 1 - Level 4 is a foundation year for all students within Sports Coaching Science. Students cover core sport science topics and two specialised coaching modules. Year 2 - After the grounding in theory provided at Level 4 you will now progress into practical understanding and the application of acquired theoretical knowledge to enhance coach effectiveness. Specialised coaching modules are taken alongside optional sport science modules. Year 3 - At Level 6 you will complete, alongside other theoretical and practical modules, an extended research project. Advanced issues and research are covered through theoretical and laboratory based work.
