This College of Radiographers-accredited programme is for qualified medical imaging practitioners aiming to achieve specialist, advanced, and consultant practitioner status in a rapidly evolving health service. - Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert): 60 credits
- Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip): 120 credits
- Master's Degree (MSc): 180 credits, including the dissertation module
Modules
- Years one and two: Dynamic Studies, Principles of Advanced Practice, Core Skills for Radiological Reporting (CSRR), Radiology Image Interpretation (RII), Advanced Procedures (AP), Extending Advanced Practice (EAP), and Adult Chest Reporting (ACR). Other options include Scientific Principles of Diagnostic Ultrasound, Scientific Principles of Hybrid Imaging, Research Methods Applied to Public Health, Leading Education in Practice, and Leading Change for Patient/Service Improvement.
Assessment method
Students on clinically related modules are expected to complete the required clinical experience to meet the learning outcomes and prepare for the assessment of competence.

Entry requirements
- Previous study and experience: You should hold an undergraduate BSc (Hons) degree in Diagnostic Radiography or a related healthcare field with a classification of 2:1 or above. - Clinical caseload and mentor: For clinically related modules, you will need access to a relevant imaging caseload and support from a clinical mentor. Note that the University of Salford does not provide clinical placements. - Alternative entry requirements: If you do not meet the standard entry requirement of a 2:1 degree, the programme lead will assess whether Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) is needed. This may delay your offer, so please apply as early as possible.
